BOXING
TO' THE EDITOR
iSir.-rSaturday night’s boxing contents causlng no little argument. Parris is«a welter-weight,' while Jenkin is the light-heavy-weigh* champion. As there is at least, two stone, difference in ; these weights, this ’> must evidently be a badly-ayranged f-hnatch, or else Parris must be ableftalbuild up in a short space' of- time. ,ifwhife'not wishing to criticise the-association, may I ask why an opponent oi more even weight was not; Chosen for Parris?—l am, etc., , , , Curious. Dunedin, July Jov.
[Actually, Jenkin is a middle-weight, and is under a £lO forfeit to make 10.8 J in his forthcoming fight against Parris. Parris will probably weighin at between 10.4 and 10.5, so that the discrepancy in weights will not be unduly great— Ed. O.D.T.]
