FORECAST FOR OTAGO TEMPERATURES RISING The following special forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued yesterday at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:Freshening north-westerly winds. Weather cloudy to overcast, with some rain probable, more especially in the west. Temperatures rising. Seas moderate DOMINION FORECAST UNSETTLED CONDITIONS PROBABLE The following Is the official weather forecast for the Dominion: — An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand, but a complex depression is advancing from the central Tasman Sea. Indications are for: — Winds.—Light to moderate and variable at first, northerly prevailing, however, in the extreme south and extending over the Dominion within the next 24 hours; force moderate to strong, but reaching gale force in some exposed positions about and south 'of Cook Strait. , , Seas.—New Zealand waters: Slight to moderate, but rising later on the west coast and about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh to strong north-east to north-west winds, with rough seas. Weather.—Fine at first, but gradually clouding over from the west, with rain developing and unsettled conditions extending over the Dominion within 24 hours. Many hard_ frosts, but temperatures becoming milder.

CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, July 11. Conditions to-day were fine with occasional showers, the wind being light from the south-west and the maximum temperature 54deg. The barometric pressure was steady with a 5 p.m. reading of 29.97 in or 1015 millibars. WELLINGTON, July 11. Except for a slight haze over the harbour, the day, though cool, was fine and sunny, with very little wind. The maximum temperature was 49.9 deg. At 3 p.m. the pressure was 1014.4 millibars. CHRISTCHURCH, July 11. Fine sunny weather continued to-day with a very light south-westerly wind. The maximum temperature was 46.3 deg. The l)arometer remained steady, the reading, at 5 p.m. being 29.92 in.
