MR JORDAN AT GENEVA CRITICISM OF ACTIVITIES (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, .July 11. . “More than once Mr Jordan has dropped a brick at Geneva,” said Mr F. W. Doidge (Opposition, Taufanga) during the Address-in-Reply debate in. the House of Representatives to-night in the course of an appeal to the Prime Minister (Mr M. J. Savage) to keep the New Zealand High Commissionerin London (Mr W. J., Jordan) from. Earticipating in the .affairs of the eague of Nations' at , Geneva. Mr Doidge said that Mr Jordan had acted ,‘as the catspaw of Russia to slain the' door, in the face of Italy, arid had. caused Mr Arithony Eden some anxiety on one now historic occasion. He knew that Mr Jordan was,a splendid man, and a very fine High Commissioner, being regarded by many people as one of. the finest New Zealand had ever had. “ His job is not Geneva.'” Mr Doidge added. , “He knows nothing about foreign politics or the intrigues of diplomacy.” The Minister of Housing (Mr H. T„ Armstrong); Perhaps they should send you. “To send Mr Jordan to Geneva, that centre of intrigue, dpuble-dealing, and. double-crossing, is like throwng cat’s meat to a tiger,” Mr Doidge said. “ I suggest that the Prime Minister should keep him away from Geneva.”,
