WRESTLING
' BLOMFIELD v. MARTINEZ The wrestlers visiting New Zealand this season are capable performers in the ring, apd. from a physical standpoint. Ignacio Martinez, the big Spaniard. who is to be “ Lofty ” Blomiicld’s opponent in the professional bout at the Dunedin Town Hall on Monday night, is no exception. The first sport he became interested in was golf, but he had not long established himself in the sport before he decided that wrestling had more to offer. He had already spent hours in gymnasiums, and consequently was well prepared td stand up to the opposition he • was called uoon to face. The fact that ho is 6ft ,4in in height and weighs about 17i : stone. stands him in good stead in the ■ring, and his size does not detract from his speed. Martinez holds the Latin title, which he won from Vincent Lopez last year, and he has beaten Henri de Glane and several others who have been world champions. His style makes him an ideal opponent for Blomfield. Further particulars are advertised.
