(Received July 10, at 11.30 p.m.) As the result of a terrific explosion at a powder magazine. at Penaranda de Bracamonte,. Salamanca province, Spain, 30 people are known to have been killed and 200 injured. Firemen from a dozen cities, including Madrid, 100 miles distant, are fighting to save the. town from flames. The entire population of 5000 have evacuated the' town and are camping in the countryside. The force of the explosion was felt over a radius of 30 miles. People in a neighbouring town were injured. There is no trace of civil guards and railway officials who were at a station near the magazine at the time of the explosion. Similarly, an entire train which was approaching the station, completely disappeared.
