ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE The weekly meeting of the Otago Football Association was held last night, Mr M. G. Mclnnes occupying the chair. Also present were: Messrs E. R. Hope, A. B. Smith, D. Hanlin, and H. Cunningham. Member's Resignation . Mr E. McNarey tendered his resignation from the committee, owing to pressure of other duties.—Accepted with regret, a decision being made that a minute be prepared, expressing appreciation of Mr McNarey's services to the association. Triangular Matches The Canterbury Football Association wrote stating that it had approved of the South Canterbury Association's suggestion that the Otago, Canterbury, and South Canterbury Associations should play triangular matches for a trophy which had been offered in Timaru. It was also suggested that the best results would be obtained by Otago and Canterbury sending teams to Timaru on the same day to play for the trophy, each association playing the other two, points to be allotted as follows:—Win, two points; draw, one point each. In the event of two associations gaining an equal number of points, the goal average should decide who should be the holder of the trophy until the next tournament. It was decided that the matter of competition for the new trophy should be discussed at the conference in Christchurch on the day of the Jones match. Fifth Grade Match The Canterbury Football Association asked that Otago should send up a Fifth Grade team with its Jones Cup team to play in a curtain-raiser to the trophy match.—Messrs J. Mackle and H. Cunningham were appointed to select a team which would be prepared to pay its own expenses. Primary Schools' Tourney The Canterbury Association advised that the South Island Primary Schools' tournament would be held in Christchurch during the August term holidays.—Referred to the primary school?' section.
