PARKING FACILITIES

TO THE EDITOR

Sir,—l notice in your columns an hv> timation concerning the enforcement 1 * of new traffic regulations. I also read with attention the comprehensive report of the Tramways Committee, which showed that the tramways ar« running at a loss. It seems to me that the time is opportune for the. City Corporation to collect some money from motorists who park m town ,a3i day and who do not use trams. I suggest that the corporation should acquire an area of land handy ,to th« main street as a car parking area. Thii Idea has been carried out in. other centres and overseas with marked success, and there is np reason why out City Corporation should not provide a similar service at a small charge for motorists, and. at the same time, in** prove its own revenue position.— l am, etc. Parking.
