SHOP WINDOW BROKEN
HOLE MADE WITH BRICK CULPRIT ESCAPES AFTER CHASE (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND. June 8. A plate-glass window in the music shop of Arthur Eady, Ltd., 10 Vulcan lane, was broken late last night with a brick. A man seen standing at the window was chased by a passer-by, but escaped. The man secured the brick from a pile beside the new building which Is being erected at the corner of Queen street and Vulcan lane, Hearing a crash of broken glass at 11.40 p.m„ a passer-by went to investigate and saw a man standing beside the window. The passer-by at once gave chase. The man succeeded in outpacing his pursuer. A hole two feet long by about a foot high was made in the window, while a crack extended to the top. As far as could be ascertained nothing was removed from the window. There were a number of mouth organs, mandolins. and other instruments near the hole made by the brick, while a little further back s were several pianoaccordions. , ?
