ROYAL REFUGEES
EX-KING ZOG AND PARTY A HAVEN IN TURKEY ISTANBUL, May 11. Ex-King Zog of Albania and his family have taken three floors of the Pera Palace, the largest hotel in Istanbul. An additional 50 rooms have been engaged in an adjoining hotel for Zog's entourage. The special train which brought the royal refugees from Greece to Turkey was heavily guarded. In the train of 10 carriages were exQueen Geraldine and her infant son, ex-King Zog's three sisters, and 70 members of his entourage. The general public was excluded from the station at Istanbul. The large sums of money in the possession of the refugees required a long inspection by Customs officers. The party's baggage filled three brake vans. Ex-King Zog is reputed to have been given permission to stay in Turkey for an indefinite period. He will go to the capital, Angora, soon, to discuss his further plans with the Government. REQUEST TO THE LEAGUE GENEVA, May 15. (Received May 16, at 11.55 p.m.) Ex-king Zog sent a Note to M. Avenal asking the League of Nations to consider the Italian invasion of Albania.
