HOW EXPERTS PICK THEM During a visit to the pearl-fishing fields of North Australia, Mr J. Marco, of Hatton Gardens, London, stated that to tell a real pearl from a false one the oearl should be held in the hand "A genuine nearl remains cold but cultured or imitation Dearls become warm." he declared. "Again hold it against the light." he added. "A genuine pearl shows a translucent effect inwards for about one-sixth of its diameter." Mr Marco needs to know. He has paid as much as £IO,OOO for a single Australian pearl, states Austral News.
