CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND. May 16. Conditions were showery to-day, with a fresh south-south-west wind, the maximum temperature being 64 degrees. The barometric pressure had a falling tendency, and the reading at 5 p.m. was 30.09 inches (1019 milllbatS)- WELLINGTON. May 16. The early morning was overcast, and light rain fell, but before mid-day there was an improvement, and the afternoon, except for one brief shower, was fair. A cool breeze blew from the south-east. The maximum temperature was 53.3 degrees. At 3 p.m. the barometer reading was 1021.4 millibars (30.16 inches). CHRISTCHURCH. May 16. Fairly heavy rain fell in Christchurch early this morning and again about 10 a.m. The afternoon was fine and sunny. There was a moderate south-west wind. The maximum temperature was 55.8 degrees.
