CAR STRIKES POST

ONE MAN KILLED ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED AIR FORCE MEMBERS INVOLVED (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. May 16. Two members of the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Wigram suffered serious head injuries, one dying later, when the car in which they were travelling struck a post on the Riccarton road about 7.30 tonight. They were: Alexander Calder, 6 Harris street, Waimate. William Patterson,. 90 Lincoln road. Christchurch. They were coming into the city in a small sedan car, which ran off the road and travelled with the wheels in the channel until it struck a post between Konini and Puriri streets. The injured men were taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital in the St. John Ambulance. Calder died at 11.30 p.m. Patterson's condition is serious.
