The Pukeuri branch held its monthly meeting on Wednesday last, Mrs Parker presiding. Two new members were welcomed. The roll call was " Subscriptions, please." It was decided to hold a'concert and dance on June 28 to augment funds. Mrs Parker gave an interesting talk on " Stratheona," the training school for girls at Pleasant Point, Canterbury, which is the only domestic science school of its kind in the southern hemisphere. The competitions resulted:—Oven sconesMrs A. Anderson 1. Mrs Cormick 2; best bloom—Mrs Steele i Mrs Cormick 2. A half-hour arranged by Mrs Dumbelton. Miss N Curtin. and Miss P Thompson was much appreciated. The hostesses were Mrs Anderson and Mrs Croft. *

At the May meeting of the BerwickMaungatua branch the remits for the Dominion Conference were discussed. Members of the Farmers' Union and Young Farmers' Club were entertained at supper. • ♦.'•* *

Mrs W. Malcolm presided at the monthly meeting of the Enfitld branch. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs Don in her bereavement The officers were elected as follows:—President, Mrs W. Malcolm, secretary, Mrs D. McCormick; vice-presidents. Mrs D. McCone and Miss C Watson: treasurer Mrs D. Manson: -ompetition secretary Mrs R. Anderson; committee—Mes- , dames-Anderson. Yuill. Diver. Fordyce McNally. and Meek, and Misses Anderson and Telfer. The competition—a geranium—resulted:—Miss C. Watson 1. Mrs D. Mabson 2.

The monthly meeting of the Clutha branch was presided over by the vicepresident. Miss Allison. The president, Mrs Bell, wrote thanking all who had contributed in any way to the success of the street stall, by which the funds had been considerably increased Mr J. A. Brailsford. W.E.A. tutor, gave an instructive address on Rabindranath Tagore, an Indian writer and poet, and read numerous extracts from his works.

The Tuatapere West branch held its annual meeting on Saturday last, the president, Miss Belcher, being in the chair. The following were elected to office:—President, Mrs C. Young; secretary, Mrs G. Young: vice-presidents, Miss Belcher and Mrs Fahey; committee—Mrs Atkinson. Mrs Wilson. , and Miss Dalziel; press correspondent, Mrs Hunter. The hostesses were Mesdames Atkinson and C. Young.

The monthly meeting of the Owaka Valley branch, held on Saturday last, was presided over by Miss Roger. The roll call was "Rool calls and competitions for the ensuing year." A competition resulted: (Senior) Miss P. Miller 1, Miss F, Knox 2, Miss Roger 3; (junior) Miss I. Morris 1. Miss W Knox 2. Miss I Roger 3.

• The monthly meeting of the Taieri Mouth branch was presided over by Mrs Sinclair. The roll call was My favourite sweet." The competitionbar of home-made soap—resulted. Mesdames Sinclair and R. ,Joseph (equal) 1, Mrs R. Joseph 3. Mrs Elliott gave a talk on division affairs and Miss Borrie also spoke.

At the monthly meeting of the Galloway branch, held on Saturday last the few members present spent the time repairing books and cataloguing new ones.
