SYDNEY LABOUR DAILY
RECEIVER APPOINTED ARRANGEMENT WITH BANK SYDNEY, May 12. (Received May 13, at 1.15 a.m.) It has been announced that a receiver has been appointed at the Daily News, formerly the Labour daily newspaper. The directors state that the receiver's appointment is the outcome of an amicable arrangement with the Bank of New South Wales, which has an overdraft in the vicinity of £50,000 over the newspaper. Efforts are being made to sell the paper and plant by tender. Meanwhile it will be carried on as the official organ of the Industrial Labour Party, led by Mr Heffron.
