THE EIRE BUDGET

INTRODUCED IN DAIL INCREASED TAXATION DUBLIN, May 10. In the Bail Mr Sean McEntee introduced the Eire Budget of £1,169,000 fresh taxation. Increases are; Income tax, Is to 5s 6d; petrol tax, 2d; surtax, 10 to 15 per cent., according to incomes; tobacco duty, 8d per lb. The deficit is £527,000. The revenue is £31,884,000, and the expenditure £33,110,000 of which £698,500 is chargeable. The borrowing is the highest since Eire became self-governing.
