CLERGYMAN’S DEATH

FOUND IN GAS-FILLED ROOM WORRIED BY LETTERS (Independent Cable Service) LONDON, Apl. 30. (Received Apl. 30, at 10 p.m.) The Rev. Mr Wade, aged 57, canon of Lincoln Cathedral, was found dead in a gas-filled room at the vicarage. Mr Wade, -who was a widower for five years, recently announced his engagement to Miss Margaret Adcock, aged 18. Since that announcement he received shoals of anonymous “ poison pen ” letters, which Mr Wade described as “ so filthy and scurrilous that I had to have them censored before I read them.”
