CHISHOLM PARK LADIES' CLUB The mid-week players at Chisholm Park held a selected hole match on Tuesday. The best cards were as follows:—Mrs A. Cormack, 20—5—15; Mrs L. Wood, 22—5—17; Mrs G. Burns, 23—5—18; Mrs F. Meggit, 24—5—19; Mrs J. Benton, 24—5—19; Miss Rhodes. 24—5—19. INVERCARGILL LADIES' CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY MISS SMITH In the final of the Invercargill Ladies' Golf Club's championship over 36 holes. Miss Claire Smith defeated Mrs J. D. Speirs by the big margin of 10 and 9. After being 5 up at the end of the morning round, Miss Smith reached the top of her form in the afternoon, when she did the first nine holes in 36, one under the women's par. Against sucn fine golf her opponent had no chance, the match finishing after 27 holes had been played. HUTT LADIES" CLUB TITLE WON BY MRS CROMBIE (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Apl. 28. Playing steady golf, Mrs Crombie (Wellington) won the Open Championship of the Hutt Ladies' Club to-day. She beat Miss E. White-Parsons (Christchurch) in the semi-final in the morning by 2 and 1, and in the afternoon defeated Mrs McKillop in the final by 3 and 2. The best golf of the day was shown by Mrs McKillop. who covered the course in 79 to defeat Miss S. Collins, the woman champion of New Zealand, by 2 up in the other semi-final. Play in the final was not of a particularly high standard.
