PROHIBITED DRIVER
FALSE STATEMENT TO TRAFFIC INSPECTOR FINES TOTALLING £25 IMPOSED (Peb United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 14 An assurance by Robert Court that he was the holder of a driver’s licence, but did not have it with him. was later found to be false by an inspector of the Transport Department, and led to his appearance before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. On a charge of speeding, he was fined £5, and on a charge of driving without a licence he was fined . £2O. The inspector explained that he found Court’s licence had been cancelled for 12 months when Court was convicted of being intoxicated in a car. He stopped Court on the Main North road, after observing him travel at 49 miles an hour within the 30 miles-an-hour area.
