RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the executive committee of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association was held last evening, the president (Mr N. R. Wilson) occupying the chair Membership Four nominations, including one of an honorary member, were approved, and one death was recorded. One transfer inward was approved. It was reported that the membership was 2497, compared with the Christchurch Association’s total of 3085. Defence Matters Mr H. L, Paterson reported having attended a meeting called by the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce to discuss arrangements for a public meeting to be addressed by General Sir Andrew Russell and Mr W Perry, M.L.C.. on matters of defence. The meeting was set down for February 27. The meeting agreed to support the efforts being made by the chamber and associated bodies in an endeavour to have the meeting as fully atttended as possible.
