OFFICIAL FORECAST MAINLY FAIR TO FINE The following is the official weather forecast: — Anti-cyclones are located respectively over northern New Zealand and south-eastern Australia. Between them is a shallow depression which is now approaching the southern part of the South Island. Indications are for:— Winds. —West to north prevailing, strong at times in some exposed positions, but mainly moderate. A change to southerlies commencing in the far south to-night and becoming general by about Sunday morning. Seas (New Zealand Waters).—Rather rough to rough at times in Cook and Foveaux Straits and in parts of the West Coast, but for the most part slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea.— Light to fresh, north to north-west winds, but a change to southerlies advancing later from the south-west; seas generally slight to moderate, but rather rough at times in the central and southern portions. Weather.—-Fair to fine at first, but scattered and mainly light rain developing in the south and extending northwards along western districts to beyond Cook Strait; temperatures mild. WEATHER IN DUNEDIN The sun shone from a cloudless sky yesterday, and there was no wind until about mid-day, when a light breeze sprang up from the north-east, keeping the temperature down to a maximum of 65 degrees. The day was fine, with a light wind from the south-south-west. The sky was overcast in the morning, and clear for the rest of the day. The maximum temperature was 75 degrees, and the barometric pressure was steady, the reading at 5 p.m. being 30.15 inches. « WELLINGTON, Feb. 10. After a brief and light shower very early in the morning, the day, though cloudy to overcast, was otherwise fine and mild, with a light to moderate northerly breeze. The maximum temperature was 63.6 degrees, and at 3.30 p.m. the barometer reading was 30.071 inches. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 10.' To-day was overcast and fine in Christchurch. with a fresh northeasterly breeze, which increased in force during the dav. The maximum temperature was 64.1 degrees.
