HIGHWAYS BOARD

VISIT TO WAIMATE The construction of a bridge over the Elephant Hill Creek, on the main road between Waimate and Kurow, and a special request for a grant for improvements to Molloy’s road between Waimate and Studho’me were the only schemes placed before the Main Highways Board during its visit to Waimate. Mr A. J. Baker, deputy-chairman of the Highways Board, suggested that the bridge ever the Elephant Hill Creek would not be a very big job, but the request would be considered, and a recort on the cost and general details of the scheme would be made by the district engineer. The board also welcomed suggestions for the sealing of such highways as Molloy’s road, and expenditure on this road would be fully justified, therefore the proposal would be given every consideration.
