BURNSIDE STOCK SALE

FAT CATTLE VALUES FALL Fat Cattle A very large yarding of fat cattle, numbering 432 head, came forward for yesterday's Burnside stock sale. Included in the entry were three to four trucks of prime heavy bullocks, the bulk oeing comprised of medium grades, with a larger proportion of cows and heifers than usual. Although there were some specially good cows and heifers penned, the larger number, however, consisted of medium to light sorts. The market opened with a slack demand at a reduction of 25s per head xor all prime quality animals which attracted the best demand, while other classes suffered to the extent of 30s to 40s per head on the average compared with last sale’s rates. Towards the close of the auction a further easing tendency was noticeable.
