BATHING WRAPS
When bath sheets become too thin for use as towels they can be given another lease of life as bathingwraps for children. Buy a brightcoloured dye. and, after having given them a new tint, cut them up into bath-wraps for the children. Ordinary magyar style is simplest, and with two large patch pockets and a girdle of wool in harmonising or contrasting colour, smart and useful wraps arc evolved. For grown-ups an effective bathing cape can be made out of a large hath sheet or even a very big towel. After dyeing it fold the bath towel in two across the width and join together on the selvedge side for about 12 inches. Sew a bright woollen tassel to the end of the join. This is worn capewise, with the tassel hanging at the back. Curve out the neck slightly, and cut slits for the arms. Buttonhole all edges with wool to match the tassel
Parchment lamp shades require little dusting if they are well cleaned every six .months with a good furniture cream. The cream keeps the parchment in good condition.
