McLean—Crane A quiet little wedding was celebrated in a Cornish courtyard at Falmouth, England, the contracting parties being Leslie Alexander Frederick, elder son of Mr and Mrs Leslie McLean, of Tay street, Invercargill, and Mary, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Wesley Crane, “ Stella Mans. Wanstead Park road. Ilford. Essex, England. The bride was attended by Mrs Lassell, as matron of honour, and Mr Loydstrom was best man. Reggett—Smith

The wedding was solemnised at the Caversham Presbyterian Church on December 23 of Walter Ritchie, eldest son of Mr and Mrs E. Reggett, of Dunedin date of Hindon) and Frances Monica, youngest daughter of Mrs J. Scott, of Dunedin. The Rev. Mr Sullivan performed the ceremony. Escorted by her step-father, the bride entered the church wearing a simply cut gown of gold satin and lace, finished with a spray of flowers to match. Her veil of gold embroidered net fell from a sparkling gold halo. She carried a sheaf of cream roses and maiden hair fern, decorated with silver tinsel. The bridesmaid, Miss Mavora Smith (the bride’s sister) wore an attractive frock of blue taffeta relieved with a gold posy. Her bouquet was of blue delphiniums, gold poppms ™d maidenhair fern decorated .with gold tinsel The flower girl, Miss Rosalie Aitkc wore a becoming frock of pmk satin with a pale green coatee. Her posx was of pink hydrangeas and maidenA reception was held later in tne Vedic Cafe, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, assisted by the bridegroom’s mother. At Trinity Methodist Church, Stuart street, on the evening of December 21, the Rev. L. B. Neale officiated at an interesting wedding—that of Gilbert George, elder son of Mr and Mrs L Mitchell, "Moana,” Rosebank. Balclutha, and Margaret Alva elder daughter of Mr and Mrs M. Myers, of Kaitangata. 1 x , , . The Bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a model frock of honeydew tinted satin, cut on classical lines, the flared skirt forming a long tram. Her becoming veil was held in place by a golden spray interwoven with orange blossom and her sheaf consisted of tinted Christmas lilies. The bridesmaids, Miss Edna Myers and Miss Merle Heather, wore unusual gowns of golden amber lace satin dentelle, the necklines being outlined with flowers of contrasting colours. Both wore small witch hats or the same material, and carried bouquets to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. E. Chamberlain (Amberley) and Mr O. D. Paterson. Messrs R. James and J. Moir acted as ushers. During the signing of the register Mr lan Allan, of Owaka, rendered a solo. A reception was held in the Tudor Hall, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a smart ensemble of black georgette, the coatee being relieved with fur. Her bouquet was in shades of cyclamen. Mrs Mitchell, who assisted her, was attired in a black floral georgette frock with black braided coatee, and hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of For travelling the bride chose a rust ensemble with fox fur and accessories to tone. The home of Mr and Mrs G. G. Mitchell will be in Christchurch. Jackson—Collins The wedding took place on the evening of Monday last, in the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church, of Frank Colin, only son of Mr F. Jackson, of Maori Hill, and Margaret May, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. E. Collins, of Maori Hill, Dunedin, The Rev. A. C. Standage officiated, and Mr Ashworth presided at the organ. The bride entered the church with her father. Her gown was of ivory satin, with a long train. She wore a coronet of orange blossoms over a daintily embroidered net veil, and her shower bouquet was of regal lilies, bride gladioli and maidenhair fern with silver thread streamers. Her attendants. Misses Doris Lishner and Nance Goodlet. were becomingly attired in Dale pink embossed chiffon over deep rose satin beautc. They wore pink floral coronets with pleated tulle and carried shower bouemets of rleeo oink sweet peas and maidenhair fern.

The bridegroom was attended by his two cousins. Messrs Allan Marett and Gordon Turley, who acted as best man and groomsman respectively. A reception was held in the Strand Salon, where the guests were welcomed by Mrs Collins, mother of the bride She was dressed in navy georgette and lace, and she carried a rose pink bouquet. Mrs Jackson chose a wool lace coat over figured georgette. Her bouquet was in red and blue tonings. When she left for the north the bride was smartly attired in a brown costume with a beautiful fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom. The future home of Mr and Mrs Jackson will be at Christchurch.
