ANNUAL
A Dunedin firm which is in the habit of sending the Christmas number of the Otago Witness to various friends overseas;;has just received several acknowledgments. The following is an extract from a letter from the director, of the Leipzig Fair:—“As. announced by your kind writing of October 27, we have received your splendid Christmas Number, We have gratefully enjoyed the charming photos of such enrapturing places in your country, which cannot fail to make us long for? a real journey through these mountains, woods, lakes, and interesting towns. Thank you very, very much for this beautiful catalogue, which will be carefully kept.” The following is a free translation of an extract from a letter sent by a manufacturer in Southern Germany:—"ln the meantime we have also received the Christmas Number of your local newspaper, which has given us great pleasure. We should like to know yoyr country personally, but the way to it is very far and the cost very high, and this will prevent the fulfilment of our wish.’
