IN AND ABOUT TOWN New Casa Nova School I The successful tenderers for the building of the new branch of the North School, to be built at Casa Nova, are Messrs Maynard and Armstrong (Oamaru). Shed Catches Fire The Oamaru Fire Brigade answered an alarm at about 12.30 p.m. yesterday, when it was called to a fire in a small shed at the back of Mr D. K. Giffln's residence in France street. The brigade soon had the fire under control, and very little damage was done. The outbreak apparently started from a rubbish fire near the shed. Friendly Societies' Picnic The Oamaru Retailers' Committee recommends that retailers support the Mayor's request to close next Saturday morning for the United Friendly Societies' picnic at Timaru.
