ISLANDS IN BALTIC

PLAN FOR FORTIFICATION SWEDEN AND FINLAND STOCKHOLM, Jan. S». (Received Jan. 10, at 0.5 a.m.) Sweden and Finland have reached an agreement for limited remilitarisation of Aland Islands, including fortification and conscription of the islanders. The plan will be submitted to the League Council m May.

Aland Islands were demilitarised under the Ten-Power Convention of 1921. Sweden and Finland are taking this step because of fear that the islands may be seized by a stronger Power.
