OTAGO CENTRE’S MEETING , v v‘. • I ' • WELLINGTON VISITORS’ SUCCESS A cbld> blustering wind, accompanied by light showers, made conditions unpleasant for competing athletes at the Caledbnian Ground last night, when the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association held its first evening meeting for the new year. Entries were not as numerous as usual, but close finishes were the general rule in the sprints. Two Wellington competitors, Miss JMcGrath and E. W. Thomson, of the Olympic Club, were successful in their respective races. A good field came forward for the Mile, which was won by R. A. Wilson, who was off 190yds. T. Beatson, off 165yds, being second. The results were as follows:
