During the holidays the dangerous prank of two boys on the NapierHastings road was the cause of strong comment by several motorists. The lads had laid a rope across the roadway, and from the concealment of long grass nearby pulled it when a vehicle passed. A motor cyclist who was nearly upset by the rope turned his machine, but the culprits had taken effective steps to evade him.
