At present the great new arterial highways that are planned make no provision for the country’s 6,000,000 cyclists, so that it is rather surprising that the sport is so popular. Special cycle trains are being run by American railway companies which take cyclists out into the country, where they can enjoy themselves in quiet lanes away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded city streets.
