(Received Dec. 26, at 6.30 p.m.) ; Czechoslovak refugee Bruno Rei*hert, an ex-Mayor of Hirschfeld, Sudetenland, where his wife and children remain, was burnt to death when fire damaged a block of flats at Bayswater, in which, with two other refugees, he was accommodated. The trio were trapped because they were unable to understand the cries of alarm nor why dogs barked. Firemen rescued Reicht's companions. Three boarders'escaped by means of ropes, while an Indian student leapt from a blazing window.
