HAIR FASHIONS
"THE UPWARD TENDENCY" DESIGNER COMMENTS ON TREND (Per United Press Association) Wellington; Dec. 26. The man who has attended many of the crowned heads of Europe, Mr K. Kropacsy, arrived in Wellington by the Awatea to-day. Before his retirement, Mr Kropacsy was recognised as one of the leading hair fashion designers in the world. He was reluctant to-day to speak about his contact with royalty. "They are the most human and charming people in the world, but it would not be fitting for me to say more," was his only comment. Mr Kropacsy said he was a British subject. He first visited New Zealand 10 years ago. In Europe to-day, Mr Kropacsy said, the most marked feature of hair fashions was the upward tendency. Women would understand the term "unward tendency," but for the benefit of mere males, he explained that it meant the drawing of the hair upward from the nape of the neck.
