REFEREES AND UMPIRES
PROTECTION IN ITALY AN OFFICIAL DECREE ROME. Dec. 20. * According to a decree, sports referees and umpires are declared to be " public officials," and are entitled to the greatest respect under a penalty of imprisonment. The boxer Rafaele Celli was sent to gaol for six months for knocking out a referee who had given a decision against him.
