Mr and Mrs J. M. Ritchie are the guests of Mrs W. H. Orbell, "The Levels," Timaru, for the holidays.
Mrs Reading, of Wellington, and Miss Betty Reading will be the guests of Sir John Sinclair for Christmas.
Mr and Mrs R. A. Johnston and family will leave this morning to spend a holiday at Queenstown.
Mrs W. Laidlaw is the guest of Mrs Frank Bell, of Shag Valley, for Christmas and New Year.

Mrs Oswald Stephens and family, together with Mrs A. C. Stephens and family, will leave to-day on a camping tour to the Cardrona Valley.
Mr and Mrs Max Scherek will leave to-morrow on a tour by car up the east coast to Blenheim and down the West Coast to Mount Cook.
The Rev. T. A. McNaughton and Mrs McNaughton, of Melbourne, are the guests of Mrs A. McNaughton, Maitland street.
Mrs R. A. Ewing and family, accompanied by the Rev. T. A. McNaughton and Mrs McNaughton, of Melbourne, will spend Christmas at Waihola.
Visitors to town for the wedding tomorrow of Mr James Dodgshun and Miss Alma Browne will include Mrs W. F. Browne and Mr and Mrs E. H. Clark (Christchurch) and Mr and Mrs D. Fotheringham (Oamaru).

Miss Janette Ewing, who has been in England furthering her studies for the pe|t few years, arrived by the Maunganui yesterday, accompanied by her sister, Mrs T. A. McNaughton, of Melbourne, with whom she has been staying. Miss Ewing has been appointed to the position of housekeepertutor at the Invergowrie Homecraft Hostel in Melbourne, and will leave to take up her duties at the end of January,
