Reports ol meetings oi branches are requested but thev should be furnished promptly for the cublication of reports- that are not supplied within n week from the date ol the meetine cannot promised Mrs Hill presided at the monthly meeting of the Herbert branch, when the competitions resulted:—Christmas gift costing less than Is 6d—Mrs Campbell and Miss Campbell (equal) 1; single bloom—Mrs Beckingsale 1, Mrs J. Hill 2, Mrs Gerrie and Miss Campbell (equal) 3. ¥ ¥ * The monthly meeting of the Kia Ora branch was presided over by Mrs Third. The motto was " May the Christmas spirit fill every heart," and the roll-call " A humorous happening." Mrs Venan demonstrated on the making of knitted slippers. A competition was won by Mrs Dalziel, after which a game of " musical backs" was played. The competitions resulted: — Gooseberries —Mrs Kennedy 1, Miss P. Thompson 2. Mrs Dalziel 3; bloom—Mrs Morrison 1. Mrs Venan 2. Mrs McLea 3. The hostesses were Mesdames Searle and McLea. ¥ ¥ ¥ At the finai meeting for the year of the Bannock'ourn branch Mrs Smith gave a report on Country Women's Week. The hostesses were Mesdames Crombie, Smith, and Parcell. ?• ¥ ¥ A pleasant afternoon party for members and friends of the Omakau branch was given by Mrs J. Charles at her residence, " Brookdale." The younger folk played tennis, while others enjoyed competitions. After a delightful tea Mrs Charles presented Miss Buddie (A.C.E. tutor) with a Madeira suppercloth on the occasion of her approaching marriage. Miss Buddie, in acknowledgment, made mention of her happy associations among the different clubs.
