BUTTER OR MARGARINE?
ro THE EDITOR Sir, —Your correspondent ” 1938 ” asserts that butter being such a good food and there being plenty of it. to boot, no need exists for the use of margarine. . , ... But the point raised was its quality, not its quantity.. Personally, I have edten no New Zealand dairy products for two years, and my health has improved out of all reason. People, in fact, are taking me to be ten years younger than I am. . A certain director of the Agricultural Department wrote me a letter in 1936 saying he had to spread his butter well with honey before he could eat it in the Waikato. Such products will lead to the ruination of the country, if they have not already done so. The latest quotation for New Zealand butter is 103 s 6d per cwt, and for Danish 144 s per cwt.—l am, etc..
