SAILING CHAMPIONSHIP

THE EIGHTEEN-FOOTERS A BRISBANE OBJECTION SYDNEY, Nov. 29. Doubts whether the 18-footer sailing championship can be contested at Auckland in February were expressed at to-night's meeting of the New South Wales 18-footers' League owing to the Brisbane Club objecting on the ground that a clause in the race conditions prescribes that the champonship shall be sailed at intervals of not less than two years. It was decided to re-open the matter with the Queensland Club in an endeavour to induce it to waive its objection, as arrangements had already been made for local competitors to make the trip to New Zealand.
