THE RAILWAY SERVICE
TO THE EDITOR Sir,—The sooner the injustice is ended of pandering to the 20,000 railway servants and their families by granting free annual passes on railways anywhere in New Zealand and quarter-fare at all times, it will be found that the railwavs will have a surplus instead of a deficiency, which the general public has to pay. No other section of public servants getb any privileges like those enjoyed by the railway servants. Why should there not be a protest, and, if needs be. a public one, to the Minister of Railways at this anomaly? Either this privilege must be removed or else granted to all other public servants. "Traveller" is to be commended for drawing attention to this matter. —T am. etc.. E. Pluribus Unum.
