The Clydesdale Horse Society of New Zealand offers for competition two British medals for the best mare or filly and best stallion or colt—Best mare or filly, John Young (Allanton); best stallion or colt, D. P. Brown (Dunedin). Cattle Messrs Nimmo and Blair offer a Challenge trophy (valued 25gns) for most points in purebred cattle—W. Y. Dickie and Sons (Gore). The New Zealand Friesian Association (Auckland) will give a gold medal for most points in the pedigree Friesian section—W. Y. Dickie and Sons (Gore). The New Zealand. Friesian Association (Otago branch) offers £5 as special prizes for senior group class (bull, two years old or over: cow, three years old or over in calf or in milk; heifer, two years old or over in calf or in milk; and heifer, one year old)—W. J. Ross (Hillgrove) . The Jersey Oaks Trophy, presented by the late G. Milligan, Hastings (valued £ls), for best yearling Jersey bull—J. Hellyer (N.E. Harbour); won outright. Sheep The N.Z. Refrigerating Company offers a challenge shield for most points in fat sheep and lambs, freezing classes; winner each year to receive Otago A. and P. Society's silver medal—D. J. Ireland (Goodwood). Mr James Scott has given another cup, valued at £lO, for most points in sheep at the Summer Show (sections 1 to 10 inclusive)—Joseph Mosley and Sons (Clydevale). The Trustees Executors and Agency Company of New Zealand, Ltd., offers £2 2s as a special prize to the exhibitor gaining most points in the purebred sheep section —Joseph Mosley and Sons (Clydevale). The Dunedin Stock Agents' and Woolbrokers' Association offers four trophies (each valued 10 guineas) to exhibitor gaining most points in Border Leicester, Corriedale, merino and Romney Marsh sections—Border Leicester: Estate J. W. Blair (Outram). Romney Marsh: Joseph Mosley and Sons (Clydevale). Corriedale: Bushey Park Estate (Palmerston). The Corriedale Sheep Society offers two solid silver cups, as follows:—(1) A solid silver cup, valued at £6, and suitably inscribed, replacing the cup won outright in 1937 by the N.Z. and Australian Land Company for the best Corriedale single ram under 18 months. (2) A solid silver cup, valued at £6 10s, and suitably inscribed, for the exhibitor gaining most point in the Corriedale classes. The sheep to be the breeding of the exhibitor and to be registered with the Corriedale Sheep Society. The cups to be won three times before becoming the property of the exhibitor—(l) New Zealand and Australian Land Company (Moeraki Estate); (2) New Zealand and Australian Land Company (Moeraki Estate). Sheep Dogs Mr G. Ross, Ardlui, Palmerston, offers a shield (valued £5 ss) for most points in the sheep dog section—E. Williamson (Blackstone Hill). Mr G. Ross, Ardlui. Palmerston. offers a silver rose bowl (valued at £5 ss) to the owner of the champion dog at the Summer Show trials—H. A. Mafheson (Middlemarch). Mr W. S. Thomson, Glenfalloch, Warepa, offers a silver medal to the owner of the first prize dog in the maiden dog trial event —John Trotter (Kurow). Mr John Trotter, Kurow, has given a special prize of £1 for the maiden competitor with maiden dog scoring most points in the dog trials—G. D. Payne (Flag Swamp). Other Events Messrs R. Powley and Co., on behalf of Messrs Arthur Bell and Sons, Ltd., Scotland, manufacturers of Bells whisky, have given a useful trophy, valued at £5 ss, for the winner of the High Jump—W. Hastie (Pine Hill). Mr A. Paape, proprietor of the Grand Hotel, has given £2 2s as a special prize in the motor vehicle trades display—J. G. Laurenson and Son (Dunedin).
