GERMAN ARMS MENACE

PRODUCTION OF AIRCRAFT VIEWS OF FRENCH STAFF LONDON, Nov. 23. The French General Staff is insisting that, in view of France's loss of European allies, Britain must have a stronger standing army. General Weygand, former com-mander-in-chief, says that France has 60 divisions, and Italy and Germany have 140, hence the necessity for not returning colonies to Germany and for keeping Spam undominated and Frances African communications secure. . France, he points out, can bring 40 divisions from her colonies to France in the event of an emergency. Britain is likely to request an acceleration of French air force production, because Germany is producing more aeroplanes than Britain and France combined.
