ST. KILDA COUNCIL

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING The fortnightly meeting of the St. Kilda Council was held last night, the Mayor (Mr J. J. Marlow) presiding. Others present were Crs N. D. Anderson, G. Glue, W. Lovell, R. S. Brent. T. D. B. Roy, J. C. Cherry, J. H. Hinton, E. Longworth. H. H. Johnson and W. Rutherford. Financial Accounts amounting to £1949 7s 4d were passed for payment. The bank balance showed a debit of £1389 8s 2d. Consumption of Water For the past fortnight the consumption of water was 2,831.000 gallons, at a cost of £lO6 3s 3d. The cost for the previous period was £lO2 lis 3d. Inspector's Report The borough inspector stated in his report that 15 drivers' licences were issued, and 10 drivers were tested. Two building permits had been issued. — The report was adopted. Foreman's Report The foreman (Mr J. C. Clyma) stated that sealing work had been carried out in Forbury crescent, Trafalgar and Nile streets and Ings avenue. General work was done in Corunna street. Work that he suggested should be done included the sealing of Alfred street, the intersection of victoria and Beach roads, the flanks of Waterloo. Corunna, Alma and Montreal streets, and patching work in Princes and Normanby streets,- and the south end of Royal crescent.—The report was adopted.
