Mr and Mrs J. A. Jenkins returned to New Zealand by the Trojan Star after a tour abroad, and are expected to arrive in Dunedin by car to-morrow evening.
Miss Catharine Begg and Mr Fergus Begg organised a jolly treasure hunt last evening in honour of Miss Helen Rees-Jones and Mr A. Stewart, whose engagement was announced recently, and Dr E. M. Elder, who is shortly leaving Dunedin. The other participants included Mr and Mrs L Macassey, Mr and Mi's O. T. Harris, Mrs A. P. Ewens (Adelaide), Misses Rosemary Ross, Cecile Brickell, Jean Paterson, Dora Neville, Margaret Dunlop, Heather McCulloch, Margaret Elder, Helen Fenwick, Messrs J. and I. Ross, N. Begg, J. McLean, M. Reeves. D. Brickell, J. Brenan, and Dr D. Stewart.
The retiring members of the executive of the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union were entertained to tea yesterday afternoon in the Otago Women's Club by Sister Jean Porteous. the retiring president. Those present included Mesdames J. B. Brugh. G. Dunn, W J. Porteous, J. Swann. W K. Cameron, Gray Dickson, Patterson. Tait, Forbes. Herron Tipler. Fairbairn, Cairney. Chandler, J. N. Stewart. Graham, Evans, McGregor, Jupp, Merrington, Todd, Dodds, Blackie, Davies, D. K. McDonald, Sister Elliott, and Misses Sutherland, Lindsay. Brown. Borrie. and Permin.
