WANGANUI MAN'S SUCCESS • From Our Own Correspondent) LONDON, Nov. 7. Squadron-leader D. McC. Gordon (Wanganui) has been appointed chic, flying instructor at No. 7 Flying Training School, Peterborough, in succession to Squadron-leader A. C. Mitchell. Squadron-leader Gordon entered the R.A.F. with a short-service commission in February, 1930, and after training at Netheravon served for a year with No. 4 (Army Co-opera-tion) Squadron at Farnborough. He then qualified as a flying boat pilot, and for 2J years was with No. 210 (F. 8.) Squadron at Pembroke. A permanent commission was granted him in June, 1936, after he had qualified as a flying instructor. During the past 3J years he has been on the staff at No. 6 Flying Training School, Netheravon.
