Preceded by a very slight rumble, an earth tremor was felt in Palmerston North at 0.47 a.m. a few days ago. being the first visitation of its nature for some time. Apparently the seismic movement came from the direction .of Napier, where it was reported at 0.44 a.m., being experienced a minute later over a wide area of Hawke's Bay before being felt in the Manawatu. The tremor was noticeable at Marton and Feilding. and Pahiatua, where it is reported that two earthquakes were experienced, one immediately following the other.
