CENTENNIAL VISITORS
ACCOMMODATION IN CENTRES APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL COMMITTEE (Peb United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov 2. The accommodation ot a large number of visitors to the centres during the Centennial celebrations at 'he end of next year is viewed by the Government as a major question for solution. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Mi W, E Parry) in tn interview said the provision which had necessarily to be made was not wholly the responsibility of the Government, though the Government recognised that it should assist in all vvavs found lo be prac•cable Local bodies hotel and guest house proprietors, and citizens were, he 6aid, expected to pull their weight in helping, and would no *oubt do so, "I can give a definite assurance, Vlr Parry said, 'that the Government will nol be lacking in the efforts made to solve the problem," the Minister said "As an example of tne serious view the Government took of the question it had set up a National Centennial Accommodation Committee.
"* The Government will, ol course, await the recommendations of the committee before taking action," Mr Parry said. "The absence abroad of two or three ol the members of the committee has held up consideration of a number ol matters. The committee will, however, be assembled at a meeting to be held shortly." ;
