TRAWLER IN TROUBLE

HANANUI II TOWED INTO PORT PICKED UP BY TUG AWARUA Partly disabled as a result of a wire rope, portion of her trawling gear, fouling her propeller, the National Mortgage and Agency Company's steam trawler Hananui II was experiencing spme difficulty in returning to port yesterday morning with a cargo of fish caught off the coast. The Bluff Harbour Board's tug Awarua, with the same board's dredge Murihiku in tow, came within signalling distance, however, and the trawler was taken in tow also and brought safely to port. The Awarua arrived at Port Chalmers at 11.15 a.m. So far as is known, no great damage has been suffered by the Hananui 11, which went to her usual berth to discharge her fish cargo, and is to move this morning to the sheerlegs to have the fouled tackle cleared away. The Murihiku has come to Port Chalmers for her annual overhaul and will be in port for some time.
