FOOTBALL COMEDY
EUROPE VERSUS HOLLAND BABEL OF LANGUAGES LONDON, Oct. 26. Within 10 minutes of their arrival in London, the members of Europe's " Soccer" team were fast asleep in their beds at their hotel. Europe's non-playing manager (Signor Vittorio Pozzi) was overcome by emotion when the game against Holland reached an exciting stage. He rushed on to the field and ran in and out among the players. He shouted, shrieked, and gesticulated in attempting to get understanding among his men, most of whom did not understand Italian, Signor Pozzi had been on the field for five minutes when Holland scored. After that he remained on the sidelines, shouting tactical instructions which were relayed in seven languages by interpreters. Most of the players were unable to converse with their team-mates. They played different styles, which added to the confusion. Signor Pozzi later explained that every player was shouting in a different language. " I went out to internret," he said. Europe won by two goals to one.
