CONCERN IN TURKEY

ILLNESS OF PRESIDENT DOCTORS IN ATTENDANCE LONDON, Oct. 20. The announcement of the serious illness of Kemal Ataturk. President of Turkey, has caused consternation in Angora, especially as the absence of bulletins in recent months had led people to hope that he was steadily recovering. He is suffering from cirrhosis ol the liver. Five physicians and three specialists have been called in. The correspondent of The Times in Istanbul says that when the Alexandretta incident between France and Turkey was acute reports sent to Britain and France that Kemal was extremely ill were strongly resented in Angora, and resulted in Kemal touring Mersina. The journey undoubtedly distressed him. He contracted a chill, and since then his health has given rise to anxiety.
