SECOND COURT OF ARBITRATION
ITS CONTINUANCE UNNECESSARY STATEMENT BY MINISTER (Per United Press Association! WELLINGTON, Oct. 21. The term for which the Second Court of Arbitration was appointed is due to expire on November 22. In an interview this evening the Minister of Labour (Mr H. T. Armstrong) said it was not his present intention to continue with the court after that date. “ Now that an industrial magistrate has been appointed the continuance of the Second Court of Arbitration should be unnecessary,” said Mr Armstrong. The one Court of Arbitration and an industrial magistrate should be able to cope with the business. 1 am given to understand that there is any amount of very necessary work that the president of the Second Court (Mr Justice Hunter) can be engaged on when the court goes out of existence.”
It is expected that Mr Justice Hunter’s services may be availed of for appeal board business or other judicial or semi-judicial work of a miscellaneous description.
