ST. LUKE'S CHURCH

SEVENTY-THIRD PATRONAL FESTIVAL The morning service held at the St. Luke’s Church on Tuesday; in connection with the seventy-third patronal festival, was attended by over 100 communicants, the thankoflering exceeding £56, The evening service was conducted by the Rev. B, O. Plumb. The sermon was delivered by the Rev. J. N. Goodman, vicar of Mosgiel. and the lessons were read by Archdeacon Russell. The anthem " Send Out Thy Light ” was sung by the choir, and Mrs N. Glass and Mr Williamson rendered the duet “Love Divine.” In his sermon, the Rev. Mr Goodman compared the complex world of to-day with that of the time of St Luke and St. Paul, and at the conclusion of the address Archdeacon Russell expressed pleasure at having Mr Goodman once again to address the congregation, and stated that he was encouraged at the excellent attendances at these mid-week services.
